I don't normally post TRC's party stuff here, but I thought June's demo/party was interesting enough, I'd share. I'm a member, if anybody is interested in going.

The Red Chair's June Education Demonstration and Play Party will take place
Saturday, June 7th, 2008



JUNE 7TH WILL BE AN ALL DAY AFFAIR. THERE WILL BE THREE CLASSES ON SATURDAY. THE FIRST CLASS WILL BEGIN AT 3PM, PLEASE PLAN TO ARRIVE AT 2PM. THE COST FOR THE DAY WILL ONLY BE $20. COME FOR ONE CLASS, TWO OR THREE. THERE WILL BE A PLAY PARTY TO FOLLOW.

EDUCATIONAL SEMINARS

The Art of Service: basic etiquette for submissives and/or slaves 3PM

While having a desire to serve is a good start, there are many elements and practical skills that go into creating fine service. This class will focus on how to shape your service according to common rules of etiquette, knowledge of good manners and basic protocols, so that your service becomes a graceful work of art.



4-4:30 BREAK



Corseting for Husbands and Lovers 4:30PM

Learn the art of corset lacing and all its intimate secrets. You will be the most popular person at your fetish event.



This is a hands on practice class.

Join Vi for a provocative discussion that will tell you everything you've always wanted to know about vampires, from the psychological dynamics to the practical, everyday aspects, from the sensual pleasures that both vampire and vessel enjoy to the specific responsibilities that they each accept.



THE PLAY PARTY WILL BEGIN SHORTLY AFTER 8:15



COSTS
Each Demo $5 for guests and members if only attending the demos.
Party $20 per person, all three demo's included.

Dues are $20/person and membership is good for a
calendar year. The party fee is waived for the day
you pay your membership fee.



Viola Johnson….

Viola Johnson is a leatherwoman, vampire, and author who has been active in the leather BDSM scene for well over three decades. A mentor and confidante to many in the fetish world, she has a particular affinity with those who choose to serve as slaves, boy/bois and submissives. Viola is actively involved with preserving the history of the Leather Community, having served for five years of the Board of the Leather Archives and Museum and now travels to various communities with The Carter Collection, a thousand piece library and exhibit of books, magazines, memorabilia and ephemera. Viola is the wife of Jill Carter, International Ms Leather 1996, and the owned property of Mistress Victoria of Atlanta Ga.

Viola has had the distinction of winning the "Lifetime Achievement Award" from Pantheon of Leather and The National Leather Association, making her the only person to receive both awards in the same year. In 2007 she was honored to receive the first Black Beat "Lifetime Achievement Award. "She has been honored by her community in more ways than she ever imagined, including Pantheon of Leather "Woman of the Year" 2000, and in 2005 with the "Jack Stice Award," from South East Leatherfest, The Pantheon of Leather "Forbear Award" and the "Slave Heart Award" from The Master/slave Conference, Washington, DC. Viola is the author of two books "Dhampir" and "To Love, To Obey, To Serve," and a Charter Member of O.L.F.A. (Old Leather Farts Anonymous).

VOLUNTEERS

Your help is needed with cleanup before and after
the party and with parking. If you'd like to volunteer, please send
one of us an email. We could also use some
assistance with setting up the food table and with
the paperwork. As always, please bring a snack to
share, or bottled water, or canned sodas.

SUGGESTIONS

Before the meeting, if anyone has ideas on ways
we can improve TRC, please email your comments to
any of us in leadership. Our email addresses are
located at the bottom of this newsletter.

TO ATTEND AN EVENT:
We always strive to hold discretion and
confidentiality to a high standard. Listed below
are the prerequisites needed. You must fulfill at
least ONE of them.

A. Be a current member of TRC

B. Be a previous member of TRC

C. Have met at least one member (in person) of
the TRC Leadership Team, ALAFF, CAPE or NAPEX
committee twice.
(This can normally be achieved by attending two of the
ALAFF munch in Birmingham, the CAPE munch in
Montgomery or the NAPEX munch in Huntsville.)

D. Referred by another Groups leadership.

E. Referred by another current member of TRC.

F. Other possibilities may be approved by the TRC
Leadership Team.

It is your responsibility to meet ONE of the
above criteria. After doing so, it is your
responsibility to pass the information on to someone
in leadership. Their emails are at the bottom of
this message.

** TIME **
Please plan to arrive around 2pm for the first demo. The first demo will start at 3pm, the second at 4:30 and the last shortly after 7:15
** UNLESS PRIOR ARRANGEMENTS HAVE BEEN MADE. **
You will receive demo location and directions the
Thursday before the demo.

DUNGEON PARTY

We have a changing area, guests should arrive in
street clothes only.

If you are not a member of TRC you may join during
registration. Other arrangements are possible if
needed and requested. A valid drivers license is
required for membership and entrance to the
Dungeon Parties.

FINAL THOUGHT

Confidentiality is an important part of our
meetings and parties. Discretion is absolutely
necessary. Everyone who attends our functions is
expected to uphold others right to privacy.
Things that are discussed and viewed at our
functions should never be repeated publicly. The
location of our functions is only available to
people who plan to attend and is not passed
around as general knowledge.
